DOES CBD CONTAIN THC?

Will CBD get me high?

Not at all, the cannabis plant is made up of two main parts and they are very distinct from one another. Those parts are called CBD and THC. "CBD is the non-psychoactive portion of the plant, meaning that it doesn’t have any of the “high” affects to your mind or body.  So that means you won't have any effects like excessive laughing or munchies.  This is backed up by many osteopathic physicians in the medical cannabis field from cannabisMD. CBD won’t have your mind or body altered in anyway when using in the recommended dosages.

However, there is about 5% of people studied say they feel slightly altered after taking their recommended dose of CBD. But typically those people are also the ones who have adverse effects from over the counter drugs like Tylenol.  Everyone’s body is different and you never know how a new supplement entering your body will react. Please be careful with taking CBD for the first time and under supervision until you know how your body will react according to medical professionals.

Third-party-tested CBD for quality assurance is the best source to begin with. The FDA doesn't regulate CBD so making sure you are getting the highest quality is highly recommended.  It is very possible to buy CBD products that may be mislabeled with more or less potency than advertised. With the worst case scenario being that they even contain small amounts of THC.

Will CBD show up on a drug test?

Typically no, but its very important to know exactly what you are putting in your body by purchasing third-party tested CBD with no added THC.  Athletes and others who are tested often have a higher likeliness  of CBD showing up on a drug test meaning depending on timing of the test and when CBD was last used that could potentially test positive for trace amounts of THC if they've been using CBD products.
