Radon Mitigation

Indianapolis Metro area & Central Indiana Professional Radon Mitigation Services.

Radon is a colorless, odorless radioactive gas that can greatly increase the risk of developing lung cancer. It is the leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers and is the second leading cause of lung cancer deaths in the US. In fact, Radon exposure is responsible for an estimated 21,000 deaths in the U.S. each year. -(https://www.epa.gov).

At ALARA Property Services, we install highly effective radon mitigation systems to reduce your risk of lung cancer and help ensure that your home is as safe as possible for your family.

We utilize advanced radon reduction techniques and comprehensive Pressure Field Extension (PFE) diagnostic testing during installation of each system, which allows us to build the most effective radon mitigation systems possible.

The key to installing an effective radon mitigation system is to create a negative pressure differential under your entire home. The only way to know if we’ll be successful in achieving this is to perform advanced diagnostic testing during the installation process.

For example, if we install a primary suction point in an unfinished area of the basement, we need to verify that the system’s vacuum reaches all other areas of the basement. If it does not, your home is not being properly mitigated for radon. This diagnostic verification process ensures that everyone in your home is protected from exposure to elevated levels of radon, no matter where they are in the home. Our diagnostics testing sets us apart from most other mitigation contractors, who simply won’t invest the time and effort required to complete proper diagnostics.

Our team is highly trained, NRPP (National Radon Proficiency Program) certified and fully licensed to perform Radon Mitigation in Indiana. Radon mitigators are required by law to be certified and licensed in the State of Indiana. When choosing a radon contractor, always be sure to request and verify their Indiana Radon Mitigator License # and status. Indiana Professional licensing can be verified by calling the Indiana Radon Hotline at (800)272-9723 or online by visiting https://www.in.gov/pla/license/free-search-and-verify/

ALARA Property Services guarantees our radon reduction systems to be free from mechanical defects caused by faulty materials or workmanship for a period of five (5) years from the date of installation. Our radon fans carry a five-year manufacturer’s warranty. All warranties are assigned to the property address and are fully transferable with the sale of the property.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends homes be fixed if the radon level is 4 pCi/L (picocuries per liter) or more. Because there is no known safe level of exposure to radon, EPA also recommends that Americans consider fixing their home for radon levels between 2 pCi/L and 4 pCi/L. However, most radon mitigation contractors only guarantee that their systems will reduce indoor radon levels to below the EPA action limit of 4 pCi/L. At ALARA, we hold ourselves and our radon reduction systems to a much higher standard. Because we genuinely want to protect you and your family, a result of 4 pCi/L is simply not good enough for us.

Our advanced mitigation techniques and extensive diagnostic testing processes allow us to attain the lowest radon levels achievable. You can breathe easy knowing your home and family will be protected from the increased risks of lung cancer associated with exposure to elevated levels of radon gas.
